A dancer with passion; Doe Demure is known for her dramatic & fluid belly dance style; from glamorous vintage fusion reminiscent of the golden era of belly dance, to otherworldly Gothic/ethereal fusion. She has studied with world renowned dancers, including certifying in Italian Valenteena Ianni's Killer Dancer's Path (to Practitioner level, Vol. 1, 2 & 3), USA Kami Liddle's Conception,Invocation & Elevation intensive, & Portugal's ODI Orchidaceae Dance Intensive. Doe Demure began performing professionally in 2009 in restaurants, and for weddings and events. She has since performed extensively as a burlesque showgirl, hula hooper, fire performer and as part of Chaines Dance Company's Moulin Rouge, Vegas showgirl, Cancan, Charleston, Bollywood, Hawaiian hula and Belly dance shows. She is now on the books of The UK's premier bellydance agency Taste Of Cairo.
Doe trains performers, encouraging dancers to reach their highest potential, aswell as introducing beginners through her classes and workshops. Based in Leicester, England, Doe Demure is choreographer to established dance troupes Chicas Locas Burlesque and Skytribe Fusion Bellydance. She has created choreographies for Bijoux Burlesque for their instructors to teach in classes across England and teaches workshops for specialist dance festivals, fitness conventions and retreats; including This Girl Can and Gothla UK. Doe owned Skytribe Dance Studio for 6 years, managing the venue and a team of 5 instructors until it's closure in 2021; she now offers classes online aswell as in person, and has been involved in a number of online festivals including performing live as an international star at Cairo Egypt based Zara's Zouk Online Bellydance Zoom Hafla.
Doe Demure's performance experience includes fire hula hoop at the Miss Great Britain finals, a solo show as an opening act for American rock band The Eels and internationally at Hoop Gathering in Banyoles, Spain. She has performed for music videos, modelled for pin up and fantasy themed photoshoots and catwalks (such as Americana International, & Catriona Stewart Latex) and has been published in magazines FEMME Rebelle, BOMBSHELL (cover image), and USA Gothesque. She has travelled the UK performing in cabaret shows, including The Cat’s Pyjamas Grimsby, Night Train Revue Rotherham and Nozstock Festival's Velveteen Valley late night cabaret.
Doe Demure runs a regular showcase The Butterfly Boudoir at Attenborough Arts Centre in Leicester, the yearly Grand Cabaret show at Barefoot Festival in their Big Top circus tent, and pop up shows for venues and events, such as Mountsorrel Revival. She has organised Flash Mobs for Tutti Rouge Lingerie #illegalcleavage campaign and Mecca Bingo Halloween event.
Doe Demure is known for her musicality, freedom of movement and ability to create a magical atmosphere on any stage. She is a versatile choreographer and generous teacher who aims to instil confidence and spark inspiration in her students.
